Melo for Mac takes the small jobs off your hands
Melo puts plans in your calendar, tells you what a bill wants from you and remembers what matters to you. It runs on your Mac, it’s free, and it does nothing until you say so.

What Melo does for you
Most of what eats your day is small. A letter you still have to read. An appointment you meant to put in your calendar. A bill with a date on it somewhere. Melo is for those.
It plans your week
Type “dentist on Thursday at ten, and call Mum on Sunday”. Melo suggests an event in Calendar and a reminder in Reminders. They go in when you click Add, and not before.
It reads your letters
Give Melo a bill or a letter. It tells you what you have to pay or do, and by when.
It does things on time
Ask for “every morning at 7:30: what’s on today?” and Melo checks your calendar at that time and sends you a notification.
It sorts your invoices
Ask Melo to sort your invoices and pick the folder. Melo reads the PDFs on your Mac and suggests a clear name for each one. Nothing is renamed until you click Rename.
It gets to know you
Your name, your work, who you care for. Melo remembers it under About you, so you don’t have to explain yourself every time. You see every fact and erase what you want.
It’s there from any app
Press Control‑Option‑M and Melo opens, wherever you are. Or select text in Mail, Safari or Notes, right‑click, and send it to Melo from Services. You choose what Melo sees.
It asks first
An assistant that acts on its own can make a mess of your calendar or send something you didn’t mean to send. Melo works the other way round. It suggests, you decide. An event, a reminder or a new file name only happens after your click.
Looking things up on the web works the same way. Search is off until you turn it on. When Melo wants to search, you see the search term first and decide. Only that term leaves your Mac, never your chat. Kamelo passes it to Brave Search, so Brave doesn’t see your Mac’s IP address, and Kamelo keeps nothing. Once today’s free searches are used up, Melo looks it up in Wikipedia instead.

What stays on your Mac
Melo answers with the AI that Apple Intelligence puts on your Mac. You can also choose Gemma 4, a model that runs on your Mac. Your questions don’t go to Kamelo, to Apple or to any other AI company.
- Your chats and About you are stored encrypted on your Mac. You can erase them.
- There’s no account, email or password.
- Turn off Wi‑Fi and Melo keeps answering.
What Melo can’t do
- The AI on your Mac is smaller than ChatGPT. Melo can be wrong, so check what matters.
- Melo isn’t a doctor or an adviser. For health or money decisions, talk to a person.
- You need a Mac with Apple silicon, macOS 26 and Apple Intelligence turned on.
- Melo for iPhone is coming soon to the App Store. Without an iPhone or Mac, Melo for your browser works in Chrome.
How to get it
Download Melo from kamelo.eu/app. Apple has checked the app for malware, and it updates itself when there’s a new version. The version of 26 October added a new look and web search. Melo updates itself.
