Ask privately, and see what Kamelo does
Something personal? One click now moves your question to a temporary chat, masked as usual. And you can see what Kamelo protects, right in the text.
It’s midnight. You’ve read the letter from your doctor twice, and you still don’t really understand it. You open ChatGPT and start typing: what it says, what worries you, what you haven’t told anyone yet.
Kamelo can mask your doctor’s name and your address. But the diagnosis is the question itself. It can’t be swapped for a placeholder. And a normal chat stays in your history, and in what the AI remembers.
Ask privately
Now, when you share something personal, like your health or money problems, on ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, Kamelo’s notice offers Ask privately. One click opens a temporary chat (on Claude: incognito) with your message already in it, masked as usual.
Temporary chats stay out of your history and memory, and aren’t used for training. Your text travels along in memory only, for that tab, for at most a minute. You’ll find Ask privately in the popup too.
See what Kamelo does
While you type, details that will be masked get a blue wavy underline. Hover for Mask now or Keep visible. After masking, the placeholders are marked in blue. In the answer, every detail Kamelo put back gets a dotted underline: hover to see what the AI saw instead. Kamelo draws these marks without changing the page itself.
Quietly safer
Websites only ever get their own part of the vault. “Deleted after 30 days” now happens on time, even if you don’t open an AI site for a while. And if Kamelo can’t mask a message in time, it stops it instead of sending it unmasked. Just send it again.
Honest about limits
Your account still knows it’s you: a temporary chat sits under your account, and AI apps can keep it for up to 30 days for safety. The marks don’t show in plain text boxes yet; masking works there as before. Firefox is coming soon.
Ask what you need to ask. Kamelo keeps the rest out.
Since version 1.5.0, masking names and details is part of Kamelo Business. The free extension focuses on Melo, Kamelo’s private chat.
